The Ibanez guitar brand is owned by Hoshino Gakki based in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan. The Ibanez name dates back to the Ibanez Salvadol Brand in 1929. Hoshino Gakki owns both the Ibanez (guitars) and Tama (drums) brand names.

 

Ibanez is only a brand name, and therefore Ibanez does not actually produce guitars. The Ibanez guitar is produced by contract guitar factories to make guitars for them bearing the Ibanez brand name.
